Beaded Bracelets

by Emma on February 2, 2012

in Craft

Sometimes you find yourself watching an episode of New Girl at 1 am while braiding beads onto a bracelet for yourself.

Or, at least, I do. I don’t know what it is but I have these moments where I am actively digging myself out from under a bunch of emails amid a messy kitchen and disastrously untidy bedroom but I just want to make something. I just feel like making something cute.

We do weird things to keep our sanity.

I like making my own bracelets because I have tiny baby-bird wrists, so it’s just easier to get something that will fit properly if I make it myself. Maybe some of you have the same problem. I saw these cute bracelets over at Honestly WTF and I thought I’d make a few-love them so much! Check out their tutorial if you want to make some too.

Late night breaded bracelets… project #6 of my 2012 craft challenge. What have you been making lately? xo. Emma

Emma-

I laughed because most things you write about remind me of myself. I too have a DIY bracelet from “Honestly WTF” on my blog, different from yours, but similar.

I also suffer from tiny baby bird wrists. This is why my bracelet collection is sadly small. Cuff and bangle bracelets slide right off.

Super cute! I totally get what you are saying, sometimes you just have to be creative and it has to be NOW.

I also really like these ones, also by Honestly WTF: http://honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-wrap-bracelet/

I haven’t made anything else lately but I have been actively digging myself out from a load of things I should have done a while back. I read to keep myself sane!

I watch New Girl and embroider, which seemed particularly fitting in this week’s episode involving a crochet night. :) Love the bracelets; totally going to have to DIY that one soon.

Yes! Creativity is my savior. It’s hard time to come by sometimes but it re-energizes me, even if it is at one in the morning.

Those are adorable! And I totally believe in making something when you need to keep your sanity. It’s such a lifesaver for me too!
I’ll be checking out the tutorial for sure! Thanks for sharing :)

Siobhan/Facets of the Fabulous February 5, 2012 at 8:37 pm

They are brilliant, zen bracelets crafted from insane periods of business like oyster pearls!
My craft challenge so far this year is adapting a hideous dress with a great print (think Elaine in early Seinfeld) into a grungey dress with a great print. It has worked out really great! Looking forward to seeing your next Craft Challenge!

dani z. @ pinnedbydani.com February 15, 2012 at 10:56 pm

those are so cute!! I never wear bracelets because my wrists are also like that of “a tiny baby bird” :) . I never thought to just make some myself instead! I’ll have to make some of these!
